7.10.2. REMOVING THE STANCHION TUBES –
SLIDERS
Read
1.2.1 carefully.
TORQUE WRENCH SETTINGS
Top yoke bolt (1) 25 Nm (2.5 kgm)
Bottom yoke bolts (2) 25 Nm (2.5 kgm)
NOTE The operations described below apply to both fork
legs.
WARNING
Service the fork legs one at a time. Always
refit a fork leg in the correct position before
removing the other.
• Perform the first seven steps of the procedure
described at paragraph
7.9.2.
• Remove the front wheel; see
7.5.2.
• Place the slider in a vice with soft jaws.
WARNING
The stanchion-and-slider assembly contains
oil. Do not turn it over or tilt it during removal.
• Slacken the bolt (1).
• Slacken the two bolts (2).
• Slide stanchion and slider off the top and bottom
yokes.
