EFAS is also available as a training device. It is denoted as such on the type label.
Training devices are not intended for installation in vehicles, but only for the training of tachograph users. All training devices
work with a test key system. This ensures that training devices only work with special tachograph smart-cards and special
motion sensors, which are also equipped with test keys. The use of training devices while driving is not permitted.
Note Authority-issued tachograph cards do not work with training devices.
5.1.5 Device versions
Customer specications may give rise to hardware-based device variants, which are implemented with dierent hardware
versions or with dierent front-panel designs, for example.
The company Intellic maintains a list of products and their versions. A product code is specied for every new product or
product version. The product-group labeling for EFAS is “E5T“. The EFAS serial number begins with this. The device version is
specied as a decimal with the next 3 digits.
For EFAS with inverted display, the following product codes have been dened:
