11.6 Warranty
The manufacturer Intellic oers a two-year warranty period starting with the rst activation of the device on all devices.
Any operation on the device other than that mentioned above leads to the warranty being rendered invalid.
When you send a device back to the manufacturer for repair, please enclose a detailed fault description along with it.
Please enter the following information in the greatest possible detail:
y What was the nature of the malfunction?
y Which event and fault codes (EFT, DTC, service ID) were detected?
y How often was the malfunction observed and under which boundary conditions?
y In which vehicle (manufacturer and exact year of manufacture) was the device installed and which components were
connected (type of the motion sensor, type of the instrument panel / E-tachometer, transmission type, etc.)?
y What are the changes (parameters / calibration) that you have made to the device?
If you have any queries or if you require technical support, please obtain the conguration data of the EFAS before contacting
the distributor or the manufacturer.
The version number and characteristic data of the device can be found in the menu under:

Key for displaying the serial number
Key for displaying the month and year of manufacture
Further menu information:
Key for License number
Key for License number
Key for Download mass storage (date of last download)
Key for Calibration of tachograph (date of last calibration)
11.7 Exclusion of warranty
The warranty is invalidated in the following circumstances:
y In the event of damage due to incorrect installation of the EFAS device,
y Mechanical damage of the EFAS on the front panel or on the housing,
y If the seal on the underside is damaged, the imprint of the seal is missing or illegible,
y In the event of obvious manipulation to the EFAS device or to its feed cables,
y In the event of manipulated or damaged type labels,
y In the event of any damage resulting from the use of incorrect or damaged connectors at the rear or in the front of the
device,
y In the event of any damage caused by the use of incorrect or unsuitable print media (unsuitable printer paper),
y If the complete power outage was caused by unauthorized operation or failure to follow the maintenance instructions
when replacing the buer battery,
y In case of damage caused by the use of defective, deformed or manipulated tachograph smart-cards,
y In the case of any damage caused by the unauthorized opening of the device,
y In the event of any damage caused by the use of unsuitable external storage media,
y In the event of electrical defect caused by voltage spikes (e.g. jump starting, driving with a defective generator and
electrical welding work on the vehicle),
y If the device is manipulated using liquids, hot gases or sprays.
