4. Install the new +24 V DC Power Module.
See Install the +24 V DC Power Module for details.
5. Switch on the power supply of the AMS Asset Monitor.
6. Check the operational readiness to complete the replacement of the +24 V DC
Power Module.
The LED on the front of the +24 V DC Power Module lights solid green if no fault is
detected.
7. Close the door of the AMS Asset Monitor.
8.3.2 Replace a defective CHARM
In case of a defect, replace the defective CHARM.
CAUTION
Any work on the system may impair asset health monitoring and machine protection.
Prerequisites
Suitable spare CHARM
Procedure
1. Open the door of the AMS Asset Monitor.
2. Remove the defective CHARM.
See Remove a CHARM for details.
3. Install the new CHARM.
See Installing CHARMs hardware for details.
4. Switch the power supply of the AMS Asset Monitor on – if not already be done.
5. Check the operational readiness to complete the replacement of the CHARM. The
status LED of the CHARM lights solid green if no fault is detected.
6. Close the door of the AMS Asset Monitor.

Replace a defective AMS Asset Monitor
Follow the steps if an AMS Asset Monitor must be replaced, for example, due to a defect.
CAUTION
Any work on the system may impair asset health monitoring and machine protection.
Prerequisites
You need two people to replace a defective AMS Asset Monitor.
