Secure Settings
Use the Secure Settings menu to set a password to limit access to the menus. This prevents items from being
changed accidentally.
NOTE:
• Values marked by an asterisk (*) are the factory default menu settings.
• Panel Lock
Purpose:
To set a limited access to Admin Menu with a password, and to set or change the password.

This item is available only when Panel Lock Set is set to Enable.
• Data Encryption
Purpose:
To disable or enable data encryption when using the printer.
Values:
• HDD Over write
NOTE:
• HDD Over write feature is available only when the optional hard disk unit is installed.
• Overwrite of the hard disk may take several hours. When overwriting the hard disk, all functions of the printer are inoperable.
Purpose:
To erase the contents of the entire
optional hard disk unit by overwriting the optional hard disk unit with meaningless
data.
Values:
Panel Lock Set Disable

Disables password protection for Admin Menu.
Enable Enables password protection for Admin Menu.
Change Password

0000–9999 Sets or changes the password required to access Admin
Menu.
Encryption Off

Disables encryption of the data.
On Enables encryption of the data.
Encryption Key Sets a key that is required for encryption.
Off

Disables overwrite of the optional hard disk unit.
1Time Overwrites the optional hard disk unit once.
3Times Overwrites the optional hard disk unit three times.
