Spider Removal
1. Install clutch in ho lding fixture (PN 2871358-A) and
loosen th e spider (cou nterclockwise) using Clu tch
Spider Removal Tool (PN 2870341).
NOTE: It is impo rtant t hat t he sa me numb er an d
thick
ness of wa shers a re r einstalled b eneath the
spider during assembly. Be sure to note the number
and thickness of these washers.
Moveable Sheave Bushing Inspection
2. Inspect the Teflon™ coating on the moveable sheave
bu
shing.
Clutch Holding Fixture:
(PN 2871358-A)
Spider Removal Tool:
(PN 2870341)

Moveable Sheave Bushing Inspection:
Replace the cover bushing if more brass
th
an Teflon is visible on the bushing. Refer
to bushing replacement
in this chapter.
