Gearcase Assembly
1. As mentioned during gearcase disassembly section,
replace all O-rings, seals and worn components.
2. Install pinion shaft assembly and install internal snap
r
ing.
NOTE: If bea ring replac ement was required, pre ss
ne
w bearing onto the pinion s haft and install a new
external snap ring.
3. Install a new pin ion sh aft se al in to th e p inion ge ar
housing. Using a univ
ersal seal in staller, press th e
new seal into the housing until the seal is just below
the housing chamfer.
4. Install the RH output hub into the gearcase housing.
5. Carefully install the rollers into the roll
cage assembly
while installing the assembly into the clutch housing.
NOTE: Install t he r oll c age so t hat t he ring gea r
groov
es line up with the roll cage slots (see below).
6. Install the torsion spring by wrapping each leg of the
spr
ing around the dowel pin on the ring gear.
7. Align the spring retainer dowel pin with the ring gear
d
owel pin and install the retainer on top of the torsion
spring.
Press in oil seal
just past chamfer
