interpretssignalsfromthetransducerandbuilds
upadetailedunderwaterview.Varioussonar
technologiesareavailable,allofwhichworkonthe
samebasicprinciples.
Thesonartransducersendspulsesofsoundwaves
intothewaterandmeasuresthetimeittakesforthe
soundwavestotraveltothebottomandback.The
returningechoesareaffectedbybottomstructure
andbyanyotherobjectsintheirpath,forexample
reefs,wrecks,shoalsorsh.TheSonarmodule
interpretsthesesignalsandbuildsupadetailed
underwaterviewwhichisdisplayedintheFishnder
application.
TheFishnderapplicationusescolorsandshading
toindicatethestrengthofthereturns.Youcanuse
thisinformationtodeterminethebottomstructure,
thesizeofshandotherobjectsinthewater,such
asdebrisorairbubbles
