TestingtheGlowPlugSystem
Thisisafast,simpletestthathelpstodeterminetheintegrityandoperationof
theGroundsmasterglowplugsystem.Performthistestwhenyoundhard
starting(coldengine)onadieselengineequippedwithaglowplugsystem.
Tool(s)required:Digitalmultimeterand/orinductiveAmmeter(AC/DCCurrent
Transducer).
Testinstructions:Properlyconnecttheammetertothedigitalmultimeter(refer
tothemanufacturer’sinstructions).Setthemultimetertothecorrectscale.
WiththekeyswitchintheOFFposition,placetheammeterpickuparoundthe
mainglowplugpowersupplywireandreadthemeterpriortoactivatingthe
glowplugsystem.Adjustthemetertoreadzero(ifapplicable).Activatethe
glowplugsystembyturningthekeyswitchtotheRUNpositionandrecordthe
multimeterresults.
TheglowplugsystemoftheGroundsmaster360machinesshouldhavea
readingofapproximately21A.Iflowcurrentreadingisobserved,1(ormore)of
theglowplugsisdamaged.
CheckingtheOperationoftheInterlockSwitches
CAUTION
Donotdisconnectthesafetyswitches.Theyarefortheoperator’s
protection.
Checktheoperationoftheinterlockswitchesdailyforproper
operation.
Replaceanymalfunctioningswitchesbeforeoperatingthemachine.
InterlockswitchoperationisdescribedintheTractionUnitOperator’sManual.
TheGroundsmaster360machinesareequippedwithaToroElectronicController
(TEC)whichmonitorsinterlockswitchoperation.T estingofindividualinterlock
