RemovingtheSteeringColumn

1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingdeck,shutoffthe

engine,andremovethekeyfromthekeyswitch.

2.Removethesteeringwheelcover(item4inFigure282)fromthesteering

wheelbycarefullypryingupononeofthecoverspokes.

3.Removethelocknut(item3inFigure282)andatwasherthatsecurethe

steeringwheeltothesteeringcolumn.

4.Useasuitablepullertoremovethesteeringwheel(item2inFigure282)

fromthesteeringcolumnassembly.

5.Slidetherubberbellowsuptothesteeringcolumntogetaccesstothe

fastenersthatsecurethesteeringcolumntothemachine.

6.Supportthesteeringcontrolvalve(item7inFigure282)topreventitfrom

shiftingduringthesteeringcolumnremoval.
