Maintenance and Adjustment
Inspection
1. Lever
2. Adjuster (lever end)
3. 2 - 3 mm
Check that there is 2 - 3 mm of
clutch lever free play at the point
shown in the diagram above.
If there is an incorrect amount of
free play, adjustments must be
made.
Adjustment
1. Adjuster (engine end)
Loosen the knurled locknut at the
lever end of the clutch cable and
turn the adjuster sleeve until the
correct amount of clutch lever free
play is achieved.
Tighten the knurled locknut at the
clutch lever assembly.
If the correct adjustment setting
cannot be achieved using the lever
adjuster, use the adjuster at the
engine end of the cable.
Loosen the adjuster locknut.
Turn the outer cable adjuster to give
2 - 3 mm of free play at the clutch
lever.
Tighten the locknut.
Use the lever adjuster to make
minor adjustments as necessary.
Ensure all locknuts are secured at
both ends of the cable.
