Probable Causes Solutions
The wrong cable is used, or the cable is too
long.
Use a standard A/B USB 2.0 cable. Do not use a USB cable that is
longer than 5 meters or 16.4 feet. For details, see the Installation
Guide that is packaged with your printer.
The USB cable is defective or damaged.
• To test the USB cable, connect it to another computer that is
working properly, then try to print a document. If the document
does not print, the USB cable may be defective or damaged.
• Replace the USB cable.

Connectivity problems can prevent you from printing.
Probable Causes Solutions
The IP address that the print driver is using is
not the one currently assigned to the printer.
Note: If your printer is assigned an IP address
dynamically, the IP address can change
periodically even after you have installed the
print driver.
To troubleshoot the problem and find a solution, do the following.
1. Verify that the printer port is configured to use the same IP
address or DNS name that the printer is using.
2. If necessary, configure the port to use the correct IP address or
DNS name.
To prevent the IP address from changing in the future, do any of
the following that apply:
• Assign a static IP address to the printer.
•
For assistance, contact your system administrator.
