Toner Flow
1. Toner stored in the Hopper is agitated by the Agitating Blade and conveyed into the Toner
Supply Portion by the Conveyance Blade fitted to the leading edge of the Agitating Blade.
2. The toner conveyed into the Toner Supply Portion is conveyed by the Supply Roller onto
the Developing Roller.
3. At this time, Regulator Blade/1st and /2nd regulate the height of toner on the surface of the
Developing Roller.
4. Toner then sticks to the electrostatic latent image formed on the surface of the Photo
Conductor. Any part of toner left on the surface of the Developing Roller is returned to the
Toner Supply Portion.
.
Developing Bias
■ The developing bias voltage (Vb) is applied to the Developing Roller so that an adequate
amount of toner is attracted onto the surface of the Photo Conductor.
■ To allow toner to transfer to the Photo Conductor easily, Imaging Unit + AC developing
bias voltage (Vb) is applied to the Developing Roller during development. This AC
component of the developing bias voltage is applied only during development. At any time
other than the development, only the Imaging Unit (-) component of the developing bias
voltage is applied.
■ The developing bias voltage (Vb) is supplied by the High Voltage Unit (HV).
