Installing bearing shells
•
Note correct installed position

Attention:
Lube-oil bore in housing must be aligned with bore
in bearing shell - identify position with a coloured
marker!

Note:
Use o-ring (arrow) to secure bearing shells against
falling!
•
Coat outside
•
Support bearing seat with spacer tube
D=36 mm (1.4173 in) h=30 mm (1.1811 in)
•
Use drift punch,
BMW No. 11 7 622,
to press
bearing shells from the outside in, continuing un-
til they seat
Fluids and lubricants:
Bearing shells ...................Klüber paste 46 MR 401
Installed dimension:
Offset to oil passage .........max. 0.5 mm (0.0197 in)
