3.1 Main Components and Their Functions 39
Control Panel
There are a button (the Cancel job button) and two lights (the Printer-ready indicator and
the Error indicator) on the control panel. If you want to cancel the current print job, press the
button on the control panel. The lights indicate the current status of the printer when you
first turn on the printer, during normal operation, and when errors occur. The lights indicate
the status of the printer, as follows:
Print-ready indicator Error indicator Printer status
On On Starting up, Canceling print job
On Off Ready to print, Low power mode
Off On Waiting to restart, Cover open, No paper, Paper Jam,
Over-run error, Host communication error, Drum/toner
error, Waiting to remove paper jam and reload paper
Off Flashing Engineer service call, Initialization error, Communication
error, Memory check error, EEPROM access error, Video
transfer error, Data extension error
Flashing On Paper replacement error, Size error stop
Flashing Off Warming up, Printing, Receiving print data
Cancel job button
Error indicator
Print-ready indicator
