Before Using the Machine

Powering Off
The procedure for turning the power off is as follows.
1 Before turning the power off, ensure that all copy or print jobs have completely fin-
ished. Also, ensure that the <Transmitting> indicator is not lit.
Important • Never turn the power off in the following instances:
- While jobs are being printed.
- While jobs are being copied.
- While a scan is being executed.
- When transmitting data with devices other
than this machine (when "External Equip-
ment Connection Mode" is displayed)
2 Press the power switch to the < > side.
Important • Power off processing is performed internally on
the machine for a while after the power switch
is turned off. Therefore, do not turn the power
breaker (main power switch) off and do not
unplug the power cord from the power outlet
immediately after turning off the power switch.
• Do not turn off the power breaker (main power
switch) while power switch is on. It may cause
the machine to malfunction.
Note • Before you turn the power back on after turning it off, first ensure that the touch screen has
been turned off for about five to six seconds.
