Congure LCN1 with DHCP
Prerequisites:
■ If port LCN1 requires a pluggable SFP module, the SFP is installed and its autoprovisioning is complete.
■ A DHCP server is operang on the LAN.
Overview
At the site where the NE is installed, the LAN connects to a router and the DCN is reachable through the router. A
DHCP server is operang on the LAN. LCN1 is congured with DHCP enabled by factory default. With this
conguraon, the DHCP server automacally assigns an IP address to LCN1 when it is connected to the LAN. To
establish IP communicaon beyond the LAN, the user must congure the next-hop IP address on the NE roung
instance.
This secon describes the procedure to congure the default next-hop IP address, and install a LAN cable
connecng LCN1 to the LAN. The LAN cable can connect directly to a LAN switch port as shown in the following
gure.
