Replace Fan Unit
Step 1
Obtain a replacement Fan unit from a supply of spares.
Note: If two units are available, bring both units to the blade with the failed unit.
Step 2
Inspect and verify the replacement Fan unit to be installed is free from defects, debris, and physical damage.
Note: If defects exist, set the Fan unit aside for repair paperwork processing and return to Step 1.
Step 3
Record the serial number and issue number of the replacement Fan unit to be installed, if necessary.
Step 4
Remove the Fan unit being replaced as described in Remove Fan Unit, and within 3 minutes of removing the
failed unit to avoid exceeding the operang temperature range (5…40 °C), install the replacement Fan unit in the
proper Fan unit slot (as described in Install Fan Unit).
Cauon
: Remove only one Fan unit at a me if power is applied to the blade.
Remember: Set aside the failed Fan unit for repair paperwork processing.
Step 5
Verify that the FAN LED for the replacement Fan unit is lit green.
Note: If the light is not green, reseat the replacement Fan unit. If that does not clear the problem and a second
replacement unit is available, install it immediately. Record the serial number of the replacement unit. If
necessary, call Fujitsu at 1-800-USE-FTAC (1-800-873-3822) for technical assistance.
