L160 Raman Amplier
The L160 Blade is a carrier-grade (C + L) backward Raman opcal amplier blade designed for high OSNR
performance and for the specic challenges of long-reach opcal network spans. Currently, the L160 Blade can
be deployed with the L100 Blade. The operaon of the L160 Blade is fully integrated with the L100 Blade, and
aer it is installed, the L160 Blade funcons as part of that NE. Hardware support for (C + L) amplicaon is built
directly into the blade. Currently, C-Band pumps support C-Band applicaons and conguraons. In-service L-
Band amplicaon (C + L) can be added on the same blade in a future release.
The number of L160 Raman blades that can be installed depends upon the ROADM conguraon.
Note: L100 Issue 14, FC95453R11-I14, and later blade must be used with L160 Raman blade.
