Front End Processor (FEP)
Front End Card Rack general description
Introduction
The Front End Card Cage / Card Rack with the electronics is
also called the Front End Processor (FEP).
FEP’s location
The FEP is located on the right side of the Vivid E80/E90/E95,
behind the Right Side Cover.
FEP cards overview
These cards are included in the FEP:
• Relay board
• Transmitter board
• CRX board
• cSound Power Module
• Front Plane boards (Transducer bus boards)
• Backplane
The cards have color-keys on the connectors to prevent
installation in the wrong rack position. Do not change the
color-keys position. Don’t insert a card in the wrong position in
the card rack. If the power is turned on with a card placed in the
wrong position, the Vivid E80/E90/E95 will be destroyed.
