Cables replacement
TwinAx PCIe cable replacement
The TwinAx PCIe cable connects the CRX board (via the main
board) to the back end processor (BEP).
Preparations
When preparing for the replacement, you must perform the
following steps:
1. Power down the Ultrasound system.
2. Disconnect the Mains Power Cable from the wall outlet.
3. Disconnect all probes.
4. Remove both the Left Side Cover and the Right Side Cover.
Remove the TwinAx PCIe cable
Follow these steps to remove the TwinAx PCIe cable:
1. Disconnect the TwinAx PCIe cable from the BEP’s
motherboard as described here:
a. Remove the BEP cover.
b. Disconnect the TwinAx PCIe (flat) cable from the
connector on the motherboard.
2. Disconnect the TwinAx PCIe cable from the FEP card rack’s
main board as described here:
a. Remove the FEP cover.
b. Carefully, unlock the two locks used to fix the cable plug
to the connector.
c. Carefully, disconnect the TwinAx PCIe (flat) cable from
the connector on the main board
Be careful when performing the next step. The two locks on the
connector for the PCIe cable are easy to break. If broken, you
must replace the Main Board.
