BRAKE PAD/DISC
BRAKE PAD REPLACEMENT
FRONT
Check the fluid
level in the master
cylinder reservoir as
this operation
causes the fluid
level to rise.
Push the caliper pistons all the way in to allow
installation of new brake pads.
Loosen the pad pin.
Pull the pad pin out of the caliper body while push-
ing in the pads against the pad spring.
Remove the brake pads.
Make sure the pad spring is installed correctly.
Install new brake pads so that their ends are set in
the pad retainer on the caliper bracket properly.
Apply silicone grease to the pad pin stopper ring
outer surface.
Install the pad pin by pushing the pads against the
pad spring to align the pad pin holes in the pads
and caliper body.
Tighten the pad pin to the specified torque.
Operate the front/rear brake lever to seat the caliper
pistons against the pads.
Always replace the
brake pads in pairs
to ensure even disc
pressure.
TORQUE: 17 N·m (1.7 kgf·m, 13 lbf·ft)
