2. Block heater (if equipped)
A block heater is available as an option from your
dealer
.
Block
heater will assist you in starting your tractor when
the ambient temperature is as follows.
Ambient temperature Below -20 (-4 )
STOPPING THE ENGINE
1. After slowing the engine to idle, turn the starter key
to the
“STOP” position.
2. Remove the starter key.
NOTE :
If the starter key does not stop the engine,
consult your local KUBOTA Dealer.
WARMING UP OF THE ENGINE
WARNING
To avoid personal injury or death:
Be sure to set the parking brake during warm-
up of the engine.
Be sure to set all shift levers to the “NEUTRAL”
positions and to place the PTO-gear-shift-lever
in the “OFF” position during warm-up of the
engine.
For 5 minutes after the engine start-up, allow the
engine to warm up without applying any load. Allowing
the engine to warm up is to allow the oil to reach every
engine-part. If the load should be applied to the engine
without the warm-up period of 5 minutes, trouble such
as seizure, breakage, or premature wear may develop.
1. Warm-up of the engine and
transmission oil in the low
temperature range
IMPORT
ANT :
Do not operate the tractor under full load
condition until it is sufficiently warmed up.
Hydraulic oil serves as transmission fluid. In cold
weather, the oil may be cold with increased viscosity.
The oil with increased viscosity can cause delayed oil
circulation or abnormally low hydraulic pressure for
some time after engine start-up. Delayed oil circulation
or abnormally low hydraulic pressure in turn can result
in trouble in the hydraulic system. To prevent the
trouble in the hydraulic system, check the following
instructions.
Warm up the engine at about 50% of rated rpm
according to the following table.
Ambient temperature Warm-up time requirement
Above 0 (32 ) At least 10 minutes
0 to -10
(32 to 14 )
10 minutes to 20 minutes
-10 to -20
(-14 to -4 )
20 minutes to 30 minutes
Below -20 (-4 ) More than 30 minutes
JUMP STARTING THE ENGINE
When jump starting the engine, follow the instructions
in this section to safely start the engine.
WARNING
To avoid personal injury or death:
Battery gases can explode. Keep cigarettes,
sparks, and flames away from battery.
If the tractor battery is frozen, do not jump start
the engine.
Do not connect the other end of the negative (-)
jumper cable to the negative (-) terminal of the
tractor battery.
IMPORTANT :
This machine is equipped a 12 volt negative (-)
ground starting system.
Use only the same voltage for jump starting.
Use of a higher voltage source on the electrical
system of the tractor could result in severe
damage to the electrical system of the tractor.
Use only matching voltage source when jump
starting in a low battery condition or a dead
battery condition.
Do not operate the tractor with the battery cable
disconnected from the battery.
