Siemens Commissioning Guide CM1G5192en
Building Technologies 6 Commissioning 29.07.2010
Parameters of the “Flying start“ function
Par. no. Value Parameter function Function selection
P1200 3 Flying start Flying start is active if fault, OFF2, start in
direction of setpoint
P1202 50% Motor current: Flying start Defines search current used for flying start
P1203 50% Search rate: Flying start Factor by which the output frequency changes
during flying start
Motor search current
The value is to be entered as a percentage on the basis of the rated motor current (P0305). In the case of great
mass moments of inertia, a reduction of the motor search current can lead to a better performance of the “Flying
start“ function.
Search rate
This value is to be entered as a percentage and defines the inverse proportion of the search curve’s initial ramp.
Hence, the parameter impacts the period of time required for finding the motor frequency.
A higher value leads to a flatter search curve and thus to longer search times. In the case of great mass moments
of inertia, we recomment to keep the search curve as flat as possible (longer search time).
6.8 Additional parameters
Parameter Default Set to Function
P0003
Access level
1 3
Allows the user to have a higher access level.
The following parameters require level 3 access, unless stated
otherwise.
P0601
0 1
Selection of motor temperature sensor.
Set P0601 to 1, PTC thermistor enabled.
P1200
Flying restart
0 1
Allows motor to start into a spinning load.
E.g. fan being turned by the air flow.
On multimotor applications, this parameter must be set to 0!
P1210
Automatic restart
1 2
Allows VSD to start after a power cut.
Auto restart requires constant on command (e.g. via a digital input).
P1820
0 0 / 1
Allows the motor’s direction of rotation to be changed.
P1910
0 Identification of motor data.
Especially recommended for frame sizes D…F. Improves the stability
of a number of functions, such as “Flying start“.
When P1910 is set to 1, the motor is measured next time a start
command is given. During the time the measurement is made,
warning A541 appears on the display. With the next start command,
the VSD will operate using the new values.
