2 Introduction
2.1 General
These are the Operating Instructions for the SED2 and are to be used for quick and simple commissioning.
The SED2 range comprises VSDs for controlling the speed of fans and pump motors. The SED2 can also be
programmed to manage many other motor functions and limits. These functions are set by parameters, which are
programmed with the help of the operator panel.
2.1.1 Types of system control
The SED2 range of VSDs are normally controlled using the operator panel or input / output terminals. Optionally,
the SED2 can also be controlled via the integrated RS-485 port.
The output frequency or motor speed can be changed via the analog inputs, the digital inputs or the operator panel.
• In “Hand”
mode, buttons on the operator panel can be used to change the motor speed
• A number of fixed frequencies can be set by appropriate parameterization of the digital inputs
• The motor speed can be changed via the analog inputs by means of a voltage or current value in accordance
with the DIP switch settings
