Measuring gas mixtures with high oxygen concentration
Explosion hazard
Introducing non-ammable gas mixtures with an oxygen concentration of more than 21% can
result in an accumulation of oxygen in increased concentration in the enclosure. There is a
danger of explosion.
• Purge the enclosure with inert gas (nitrogen) during the analysis when introducing non-
ammable gas mixtures with an oxygen concentration of more than 21%.

Measuring high oxygen concentrations
For the measurement of high O
2
concentrations in excess of 25%, it is necessary that all parts
that come in contact with the sample gas are free of oil and grease and do not contain any
particles that could react with O
2
.
We highly recommend you use specially cleaned analyzer modules with the "Cleaned for O2"
option for such measurements.
Note
Measuring high oxygen concentration in hazardous areas
The analysis of gas mixtures with an oxygen content of more than 21% does not form part of the
type test certicate. Therefore, the analysis of these gas mixtures is not permitted without
further consideration.
