Purging gas failure for operation with type of explosion protection Ex p
Explosion hazard
In the case of operation with the type of protection Ex p, explosive media can form if the
purging gas fails.
• De-energize all sources of ignition when purging gas fails.
• Stop supply of ammable process gases.
WARNING
Using Ex px
Risk of explosion in hazardous areas.
When using type of protection Ex px, route all electric inlets and outlets across Ex coupling
relays.

Ranges of the cable glands
Use cables matched to the ranges of the cable glands:
• Cable gland M16 x 1.5 (plastic): Range 5 to 10 mm (0.2" .. 0.39")
• Cable gland M16 x 1.5 (metal): Range 6 to 10 mm (0.2" .. 0.39")
• Cable gland M20 x 1.5 (plastic/metal): Range 10 to 14 mm (0.4" .. 0.55")
