5.2 Information on commissioning
Note
Sample gas pressure increase inuences the sample gas pressure switch
At the time of delivery of an OXYMAT 7 analyzer module, the internal pressure switch for
reference gas monitoring is preset to approx. 2000 hPa relative. Changes in the sample gas
pressure in the analyzer module by more than ± 150 hPa require a change in the pressure switch
switching point by the same amount. The monitoring functionality of the reference gas pressure
switch is modied as a result.
• For changes to the sample gas pressure, contact the Service.
• Have the pressure switching point of the reference gas pressure switch adjusted by a Siemens
technician or personnel trained for this case.
Note
Ambient temperature
Ensure that the ambient temperature is within the permissible range during operation. The
corresponding information is available in the section "Technical specications".
The technical specications of the device can deviate outside these temperature limits.
Operability of the device is no longer ensured at deviations of more than 5K.
Explosive gases in the enclosure
Flammable gases are gases with a gas concentration of more than 25% of the lower ammable
level (LFL).
Under normal ambient conditions, the LFL is the danger threshold when handling these
gases. Special operating conditions can lower the risk potential of these gases below the LFL.
A value of 25% of the LFL is regarded as denitely safe.
When operating types of protection Ex t, do not introduce ammable or explosive gases into
devices operated in explosive dust atmospheres.
Safety device for the pressurized enclosure in Zone 2
An unsuitable safety device for the pressurized enclosure in Zone 2 can result in the danger of
explosion in hazardous areas. Therefore observe the following instructions:
• If you do not introduce ammable gases or gas/air mixtures (sample gases) into the device,
use the type of protection "Simplied pressurized enclosure Expz" in Zone 2.
• If you introduce ammable or occasionally explosive gases or gas/air mixtures (sample gases)
into the device, use the type of protection "Pressurized enclosure Ex px/py". Under NFPA 496
for North America, ammable gases may be introduced using APU described in section "Ex
pz safety equipment (Page115)".
• Purge the device with an approved safety device in accordance with the specications in the
section "Technical data (Page87)".
