4.3 Safety notes for Ex e or Ex py devices
WARNING
Explosion hazard due to incorrect infeed
The use of Power over Ethernet (PoE) is not permitted.
• Only connect the device to an Ethernet without power supply.

The gas paths in explosion-proof devices are implemented with pipes.

Identi󹪝er of the gas connections
The identi󹪝er of the gas connections is imprinted as numbers 1 to 4 on the module plate.
Sample gas preparation
The sample gas must be conditioned to prevent contamination of the parts through which it
󹪞ows. We recommend the following minimum con󹪝guration:
• Gas sampling device with 󹪝lter
• Sample gas cooler
• Analyzer 󹪝lter, medium pore size <10µm
Depending on the characteristics of the sample gas it may be necessary to provide additional
equipment, for example, an external gas suction pump, washing bottle or pressure reducer.
In the case of toxic, aggressive and/or 󹪞ammable gases ensure that the components are
suitable for use. They must be approved for the respective application.
