DRIVE SYSTEM
Brake Assembly Removal
1. Remove the rear cover. Disconnect the battery
negative cable and then the positive cable.
Remove the battery. Remove the battery bracket.
2. Disconnect brake cable by removing the bolt and
nut that holds the brake cable end to the brake
shaft assembly (Fig. 502).
4. Remove the two bolts and nuts that hold the
cable brackets to the brake bars (Fig. 504).

3. Slide the boot up on the cable and remove the
adjusting nut on the cable and remove the brake
cable from the bracket on the frame (Fig. 503).
5. Carefully slide the brake spring and cable
brackets off the brake bar, sliding it off the right
side first and then remove it off the left side (Fig.
505).
