  If you can't hear the other site clearly, ensure that the speaker volume of the far site is not set too low. Muffled audio reception from the far side may be caused by highly reverberant rooms, so speak in close proximity to the phone. Adjust the priority order for your audio codec if you have chosen a low-bandwidth audio codec to be first. For best results, ensure that the caller is using a Yealink video conferencing system. Dust and debris may cause audio quality issues, so use a soft, slightly damp cloth to clean the top surface of the phone if necessary.

Why is the screen black on my Yealink VC400?

  If the display device is black, verify that it's properly connected to the VC400/VC120 codec. Ensure the system isn't in sleep mode by pressing any key on the video conferencing phone or remote.   If the system fails to call the far site, check the network availability of both the near and far sites. Verify that the far site hasn't enabled the DND (Do Not Disturb) feature. Ensure accounts are correctly registered and the appropriate account is used for the call. Confirm the number you're calling is correct and that the far site isn't rejecting your call. Check if a firewall is blocking inbound traffic, if the far site has reached its call-in limit, if encryption settings are compatible, and if both sites support the same call protocol.

  If you cannot view the local video image, check whether the local site camera is connected to the VC400/VC120 Codec correctly. Ensure the camera is powered on and the LED indicator is green. Verify that the camera is selected for the current video input source. Check the screen layout to see whether the remote video image is shown in full size.

  If the far site displays a black screen when you start a presentation, you can disable the network adaptive feature. This will force the system to send packets to the negotiated address rather than the actual address.

  If the display device is black, check the connection between the display device and the VC400/VC120 Codec. It may also be that the system or the display device is in sleep mode. Press any key on the video conferencing phone or the remote control to resume system operation or press the power button on the remote control or on the display device. Also, verify that you have selected the correct video input source; try switching the video input source.

  If the display device doesn't show the correct time and date, and the system is set to obtain them automatically from an NTP server, verify that the SNTP server and time zone are correctly configured and that the connection between the system and the NTP server is working. If the time and date are configured manually, ensure they are set correctly.

  If the far site can't hear the local audio, ensure that the local audio input device is connected correctly. Check if the near site is muted, and also check whether the system has enabled the auto answer mute or auto dialout mute feature.
