Update the firmware and boot/POST code
You can update the firmware and/or boot/POSTcode for a Digi device from a file on a computer or
through TFTP. The recommended method isto download the firmware to a local hard drive. TFTPis
supported for those using Unix systems. Both the firmware and the boot/POST code areupdated
using the same set of steps. TheDigi device automatically determinesthe type of image to upload.
Important Read the Release Notes supplied with the firmware to see if the boot/POST code must be
updated beforeupdating the firmware or the boot/POST code.
Update the firmware from a file on a computer
To update the firmware from a file on a computer:
1. Select Administration > Update Firmware. The Update Firmwarepage appears.
2. Type thename of the firmware or POSTfile in theSelect Firmware field, or click Browse to
locate and select the firmware or POSTfile.
3. Click Update.
Important: DONOT close the browser until the update completesand a reboot prompt
appears.
Update the firmware from a TFTP Server
You can update firmware from a TFTPserver through the command-line interface using the boot
command. You cannot update the firmware from theweb interface. For details, see Administration.
Factory default settings
Restoring a Digi Connect and ConnectPort TSFamily device to its factory default settings clears all
current configuration settings, except the IPaddresssettingsand administrator password with some
exceptions. See the following topicsfor moreinformation:

product to the factory default settings:

From the web interfaceusing the Restore Factory Defaults operation
This method isthe best way to reset the configuration, because you can back up the settings
using the Backup/Restore operation. The Backup/Restore operation providesa means to
restore theconfiguration after the configuration issueshave been resolved. See Reset the
