Manage alarmsthrough Remote Manager
You can configure the alarms sent to Remote Manager. You can also view and manage alarms from
the Remote Manager interface. See Alarms Configuration for more information.
Users
User settings involve several areas:

User authentication: Whether authentication isrequired for usersaccessing the Digi Connect
and ConnectPort TSFamily device and the information required to access it. Depending on the
Digi device, you can define multiple usersand their authentication information. User
authentication settingsareon theUserssettings page.

User access settings: Device interfaces that a user can access, such as the command lineor
web interface.
n
User permissions settings: Permissions a user hasfor accessing and configuring the device.
n
Several settings on the Network Configuration pagesare available to further secure the Digi
Connect and ConnectPort TSFamily product. For example, you can disable unused network
services on the Network Servicespage.

User Configuration
Usethe User Configuration page to configure a user'slogin credentials.
n
User Name: The user'slogin name.
n
New Password/Confirm Password: The user's login password. Thepassword must be 4 to 16
characters long.
User Access
Usethe User Accesspage to configure the user'saccesspermissions.
n
System Interface Access(Command Line Interface): Choose the interface to use when the
user logsinto the command line interface. Your optionsare as follows:
l
None: Disable system interface accessfor this user.
l
Shell: Allow this user to accessthe shell program of the command-line interface.
l
CLI menu: Allow thisuser to access the menu program of the command-lineinterface.
l
Port access menu: Allow this user to access the port accessmenu.
n
Allow web interface access: Allow this user to access the web interfacefor system
configuration and management.
n
Manage Serial Ports: Select the ports that the user can access.
User Permissions
Usethe User Permissionspage to configure a user'spermissions associated with various services and
configuration settings.
