Installing System Software
3 Reboot the E-46A (see page 42).
Wait while the system boots from the DVD.
4 When the language selection screen displays, select a language.
5 When “What do you want to do?” screen displays four choices, there are four choices, select New Installation.
6 When “This installation will erase all data on the hard disk drive(s). Continue?” message displays, select Continue.
7 After copying the System Software DVD 1 contents to the hard drive (approximately five to seven minutes), when
prompted, eject the DVD and insert the System Software DVD 2.
8 After copying the System Software DVD 2 contents to the hard drive (approximately five to seven minutes), when
prompted, eject the DVD and insert the System Software DVD 3.
9 After copying the System Software DVD 3 contents to the hard drive (approximately eight minutes), when
prompted, eject the DVD and insert the User Software DVD 4.
When the contents of the User Software DVD 4 are copied to the hard disk (approximately eight minutes after),
eject the User Software DVD 4. The E-46A reboots to begin the software installation.
10 Wait while the E-46A complete the installation. This will take about 45 minutes.
Note: The default password (Fiery.1) will be set after any of the following:
• You re-install the system software
• You restore the recovery partition (from Fiery System Restore)
11 Ask the site administrator to follow the on-screen instructions in the Fiery Setup Wizard to configure the E-46A
for the customer’s print environment.
Once the configuration in the Fiery Setup Wizard is done, you must restart the server for the changes to take effect.
If desired, you can print a Server Configuration page after the restart to confirm the default settings.
12 Shut down the E-46A (see page 42).
Installing the Fiery QuickTouch software
Install the Fiery QuickTouch software when you encounter the following:
• The Fiery QuickTouch is not responding.
• You replaced the Fiery QuickTouch with a new one.
Before you reinstall the Fiery QuickTouch software
If the Fiery QuickTouch does not power up after starting the E-46A, or if it is not responding, do the following before
you reinstall the Fiery QuickTouch software:
• Restart the E-46A (see page 42).
• Reboot the E-46A (see page 42).
