5.10.4 Installing a TPM or TCM
This topic describes how to install a trusted platform module (TPM) or trusted
cryptography module (TCM).
Scenarios
Install a TPM or TCM if:
A TPM or TCM has failed.
A TPM or TCM needs to be replaced with a new model.
A TPM and a TCM are similar in terms of appearance and replacement procedure. This topic
describes how to install a TPM.
Prerequisites
Conditions
You have powered
o the RH8100 V3. For details, see 6.2 Powering O the
RH8100 V3. Then you have removed all power cables from the server.
You have removed the High-performance Fusion Console (HFC) from the
RH8100 V3. For details, see 5.10.1 Removing an HFC.
Data
You have obtained the cabinet number and chassis number of the RH8100 V3.
You have located the RH8100 V3 based on the preceding information, and
labeled its panel to prevent misoperations.
You have determined the position on the RH8100 V3 for installing a TPM.
Tools
ESD gloves
M3 Phillips screwdriver
Packaging materials, for example, an ESD bag
Hardware
Spare TPM
Procedure
Step 1 Wear an ESD wrist strap or ESD gloves. For details, see 1 Safety Instructions.
Step 2 Take the spare TPM out of its ESD bag.
