Impact on the System
Powering o the RH8100 V3 interrupts the services and programs running on it.
Prerequisites
Conditions
All services have been stopped or switched to other servers.
Data
● All data has been backed up.
● You have determined the cabinet number and installation position for the
RH8100 V3 to be powered
o.
● You have obtained the IP address, user name, and password for the iBMC
management network port.
Tools
ESD wrist strap or ESD gloves: used to prevent ESD damage

Procedure
● The "power-o" mentioned here is an operation performed to change the server to the
standby state (the power indicator is steady yellow).
● After a server is powered
o forcibly, wait for more than 10 seconds for the server to
power
o completely. Do not power on the server again before it is completely powered
o.
● Forced power-o may damage user programs or unsaved data. Exercise caution when
performing this operation.
Power
o the server to have it enter the standby state.
● Use the KVM to shut down the server operating system (OS).
– When the server is in single-system mode, use the KVM to shut down the
server OS.
– When the server is in dual-system mode, use the KVM of system A to
shut down the OS of system A, and use the KVM of system B to shut
down the OS of system B.
● When the server is in power-on state, pressing the power button on the server
front panel can power o the server gracefully.
● Pressing the power button on the front panel to power o the server.
If the server OS is running, shut down the OS according to the onscreen instructions.
