Reverse Parking Distance Warning
assists the driver during backward
movement of the vehicle by chiming
if any object is sensed within a dis

tance of 120 cm (48 inches) behind
the vehicle.
This function is a supplemental
function and it is not intended to nor
does it replace the need for extreme
care and attention of the driver. The
sensing range and objects detect
-
able by the rear ultrasonic sensors
(1) are limited. Whenever backing-
up, pay as much attention to what
is behind you as you would in a vehi
-
cle without Reverse Parking Dis
-
tance Warning.
Reverse Parking Distance Warning is
a supplementary function only. The
operation of Reverse Parking Dis

tance Warning can be affected by
several factors (including environ
-
mental conditions). It is the respon
-
sibility of the driver to always check
the area behind the vehicle before
and whilst backing up.

the indicator on the Parking Dis

tance Warning OFF button is not
illuminated.
If you desire to deactivate
Reverse Parking Distance Warn

ing, press the Parking Distance
Warning OFF button again. (The
indicator on the button will illumi

nate.) To turn the function on,
press the button again. (The indi
-
cator on the button will go off.)

backing up with the ignition
switch ON.
