Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW) (if equipped)
/ Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA)
䳜 When there is inclement weather
such as heavy snow or rain.
If any of these conditions occur, the
warning message will be displayed
on the cluster. The function will turn
off automatically.
When BCW cancelled warning mes
-
sage is displayed in the cluster,
check to make sure that the rear
bumper is free from any dirt or
snow in the areas where the sensor
is located. Remove any dirt, snow,
or foreign material that could inter
-
fere with the radar sensors.
After any dirt or debris is removed,
BCA will work in normal after engine
restart.
If the function still does not operate
normally, have your vehicle
inspected by a professional work
-
shop. Kia recommends to contact an
authorised Kia dealer/service part

ner.
䳜 Turn off BCW and BCA (if
equipped) when a trailer or carri

eris installed. Deactivate BCW or
BCA by deselecting ä³’Driver Assis

tance → Blind Spot Safety → Off䳓
When Blind-Spot Safety system is
not working properly, the ä³’Check
blind-spot safety systems䳓 warning
message will appear on the cluster,
and the function will turn off auto
-
matically or the function will be lim
-
ited. In this case, have your vehicle
inspected by a professional work

shop. Kia recommends to contact an
authorised Kia dealer/service part

Limitations of the function
The driver must be cautious in the
below situations, because the func
-
tion may not detect other vehicles
or objects in certain circumstances.
䳜 The function may not work
around 15 seconds after starting
the vehicle or the initialization or
rebooting of the front view cam

era.
䳜 When a trailer or carrier is
installed.
