METHOD FOR CLEANING HYDRAULIC TANK STRAINER
WARNING
• Immediately after the engine is stopped, its parts and oil are still very hot and may cause burn in-
jury. Wait for the temperature to go down, and then start the work.
• When removing the oil filler cap, the oil may spurt out. Turn it slowly to release the internal pres-
sure, then remove it carefully.
1.
Lower the dump body and stop the engine.
2.
Turn the cap of oil filler port (F) gradually to release the in-
ternal pressure, and remove the cap.
3.
Remove the cap (1) of hydraulic tank strainer.
4.
Take out the strainer from the strainer case (2).
5.
Clean the strainer and strainer case (2).
6.
After checking and cleaning, set the strainer to the strainer
case (2).
7.
Tighten the cap (1) of hydraulic tank strainer.
Replace the O-ring at this time.
8.
Install the cap of oil filler port (F).
METHOD FOR CHECKING ACCUMULATOR GAS PRESSURE
Contact your Komatsu distributor to have the gas pressure checked when making periodically replacement of
safety parts or performing the legally required 2000 hour or every year service.
METHOD FOR CHECKING AND ADJUSTING ENGINE VALVE CLEARANCE
Special tools are necessary for inspection and maintenance. Ask your Komatsu distributor to perform this work.
METHOD FOR REPLACING KCCV FILTER ELEMENT
WARNING
• After the engine has been operated, all the parts are still very hot. Do not replace the filter element
immediately. Wait for all parts to cool down before starting the work. Always stop the engine before
starting the replacement work.
• Secure the footing when replacing the KCCV filter element.
If your footing is not secure when you perform the operation, there is danger of falling and suffering
injury.
