6.17 Evaluating and retracting from hardware limit switch
6.17.1 Evaluating hardware limit switches
ƒ Ensure a fail−safe design of the hardware limit switches (NC contact, LOW active).
ƒ The active level is set with C0114/x.
ƒ A response to active hardware limit switches can be set via C3175.
ƒ If a hardware limit switch is activated, the drive reacts as set and a fault message is
displayed.
Positive hardware limit switch is activated:
– Fault no. x400 ("Pos HW End")
– Status bit 5 = 1
Negative hardware limit switch is activated:
– Fault no. x401 ("Neg HW End")
– Status bit 6 = 1

6.17.2 Retracting from hardware limit switches
1. Only with user software £1.x(A−SW see nameplate):
Deactivate limit switch monitoring: Ctrl1.Bit1 = 1 (TRUE)
Retracting from an activated hardware limit switch is enabled.
2. Reset fault message: Set Ctrl1.Bit11 = 1.
3. Activate operating mode: Ctrl1.Bit12 = 1 (TRUE)
Note!
For retracting, return the drive to the travel range. The active hardware limit
switch must not be overtravelled while retracting.
ƒ Positive hardware limit switch is active Retracting in negative direction
ƒ Negative hardware limit switch is active Retracting in positive direction
4. Only with user software £1.x (A−SW see nameplate):
Activate limit switch monitoring: Set Ctrl1.Bit1 = 0 (FALSE).
