Only have a trailer tow hitch retrofitted at a
qualified specialist workshop which has the
necessary specialist knowledge and tools to
carry out the work required. Mercedes-Benz
recommends that you use aMercedes-Benz
Service Centre for this purpose. In particular,
work relevant to safety or on safety-related
systems must be carried out at a qualified
specialist workshop.

If you have a trailer tow hitch retrofitted,
changes to the cooling system may be nec-
essary, depending on the vehicle type.
If you have a trailer tow hitch retrofitted,
observe the anchorage pointsonthe chas-
sis frame.

If you have a trailer tow hitch fitted retro-
spectively without changing the electric
radiator fan and the cooling system com-
ponents, the braked and unbraked total
towing weight (trailer weight plus load
weight) is reduced to a maximum of 400 kg.
If higher towing weights are used, this can
result in damage to your vehicle's engine.
Any damage that may occur is not covered
by the warranty or the implied warranty.
Therefore, ensure that you always comply
with the maximum total towing weight
(max. 400 kg).
