2-4. Line and Offset
Calculating Coordinates from Line and Offset
Press the [4] key in the COGO menu to enter the
Line & offset function.
Type in the base point (P1) and specify the azimuth
bearing by AZ or P2 (a second point on the line).

Once the base point and bearing are established,
input the horizontal distance along the baseline (Sta),
the horizontal distance perpendicular to the line
(O/S) and the vertical distance (dVD).

Negative value in “Sta” means the
opposite direction along the defined
bearing line.
Negative “O/S” value is for the left-hand
side of the bearing line.
By pressing the [ENT] key at “dVD” field, the
coordinate of the desired point (P
M
) is calculated.
The Z-coordinate can be changed here.
Press the [ENT] key on the last line (CD field) to
record the point.
