Inspecting the flywheel components
- Check the integrity of the internal plastic parts of the flywheel and the Pick-Up control plate.
Refitting the flywheel magneto
- Fit the flywheel being careful to insert the key
properly.
- Lock the flywheel nut to the prescribed torque
- Check that the Pick-Up air gap is between 0.34
÷ 0.76 mm.
The air gap cannot be modified when assembling
the Pick-Up.
Different values result from deformations visible
on the Pick-Up support.
N.B.
A VARIATION IN THE AIR GAP DISTANCE MODIFIES THE
IGNITION SYSTEM IDLE SPEED
Specific tooling
020565Y Flywheel lock calliper spanner
Locking torques (N*m)
Flywheel nut 54 ÷ 60
Refitting the starter motor
- Fit a new O-ring on the starter motor and lubricate
it.
- Fit the starter on the crankcase, locking the two
screws to the prescribed torque.
Locking torques (N*m)
Starter motor screws 11 ÷ 13
