13.1Manoverboard
Ifyouloseapersonorobjectoverboard,youcan
usetheManOverboard(MOB)functiontomark
thepositionthatthevesselwasatwhentheMOB
functionwasactivated.
TheMOBfunctionisavailableatalltimes,regardless
ofwhichapplicationisrunning.MOBcanbesetto
DeadReckoningorPositionmode.DeadReckoning
modewilltakeintoconsiderationtheeffectsofwind
andtides.Thisusuallyprovidesamoreaccurate
course.Positionmodedoesnottakethesefactors
intoaccount.
ToobtainaMOBposition,yourmultifunctiondisplay
musthaveaGPSpositionx.Ifyou'reusingdead
reckoning,headingandspeeddatamustalsobe
available.
WhenMOBisactivated:
AnaudibleMOBalarmissoundedevery30
secondsuntiltheMOBiscancelled.
AnMOBalarmdialogisdisplayeduntilitis
acknowledged.
ThesystemsendsMOBalarmstootherRaymarine
equipment.
TheactiveChartapplicationischangedtoa
low-detail2Dview,withaninitialrangeof15m
(50ft).MotionmodeissettoAutoRange.As
thevesselmovesawayfromtheMOBpositiona
dottedlineisdisplayed,joiningtheMOBposition
withthevessel'sposition.
Theactiveradarapplicationrangeischangedto
230m(760ft).
AllGotoandFollowfunctionsaredisabledinall
applications.Navigationtoanyactivewaypoint
isstoppedandanyexistingnavigationfunctionis
cancelled.
Ifpositionorheadingandspeedinformationis
availableaMOBwaypointisplacedatthecurrent
vesselpositioninanyapplicationthatiscapableof
showingwaypointsandvesselposition.
MOBdataisdisplayedinthedatabar,replacing
theexistingdata.
MOBdataisdisplayedonthehomescreen,
replacingthestatusicons.
WhentheMOBalarmiscancelled:
MOBdataisremovedfromtherelevant
applications.
Thechartapplicationmotionmodeisreset.
Thechartiscenteredonthevesselandpitch/
rotationsettodefault.
GOTOandroutefunctionsarerestored.
Thedatabarmodeisreset.
AMOBnormalmodesignalissenttoany
instrumentonSeaT alk.
