2. Firmly connect the other end of the fuel
hose to the joint on the fuel tank.
3. Wipe up any spilled gasoline immediate-
ly with dry rags.
Dispose of rags properly according to local
laws or regulations.
4. Squeeze the primer pump, with the ar-
row pointing up, until you feel it become
firm. During engine operation, place the
tank horizontally, otherwise fuel cannot
be drawn from the fuel tank.
When using the fuel tank on the boat, a fuel
valve may also be equipped on the boat.
Open the fuel valve.
Check the boat’s manual for the position of
the fuel valve.

Before starting the engine, make sure that
the boat is tightly moored and that you can
steer clear of any obstructions. Be sure
there are no swimmers in the water near
you.

Failure to attach the engine shut-off
cord could result in a runaway boat if
operator is ejected. Attach the engine
shut-off cord to a secure place on your
clothing, or your arm or leg while oper-
ating. Do not attach the cord to clothing
that could tear loose. Do not route the
cord where it could become entangled,
preventing it from functioning.
