Chapter 12 Monitoring PR
12.1 Overview
The pulse numeric counts the arterial pulsations that result from the mechanical activity of the
heart in beats per minute (bpm). You can obtain a pulse from any measured SpO
2
signal or NIBP
measurement.
12.2 PR Source
PR source can be from SpO
2
or NIBP, and is not selectable. SpO
2
is preferred source if PR from
SpO
2
is valid. If PR is on, and SpO
2
& NIBP both are off, PR parameter area will display No
source.
12.3 Setting PR Volume
Select Function in PR Setup menu, then select the appropriate setting for the PR volume: five
bars represent the maximum volume and one bar represents the minimum volume. If none of bars
are selected, the PR volume will be off. Beat frequency has positive correlation with
measurement value.
