Notes and Restrictions on the Authentication and Accounting Features
îš„ Login to Remote Accounts (ApeosPort Series Models Only)
z
When the authentication server performs print or direct fax using Kerberos Server, trying
to authenticate with the user information authenticated by the machine will be failed.
z
When you change Login Type to or from [Login to Remote Accounts], user information,
private folders, and Job Flow sheets registered on the machine will be deleted.
z
ApeosWare Authentication Management and ApeosWare Authentication Agent do not
support the feature to automatically obtain the certificate of the authenticated users
from a remote server.
îš„ Remote Authentication and ApeosWare Authentication Management and ApeosWare
Authentication Agent (ApeosPort Series Models Only)
z
The remote authentication server that ApeosWare Authentication Management (sold
separately) and ApeosWare Authentication Agent (sold separately) can use is Active
Directory only.
z
Color Access is available but the limit for the maximum number of pages is not available.
îš„ Remote Authentication using the Smart Card

Remote Authentication can be performed in an environment where Active Directory of
ApeosWare Authentication Management (sold separately) or ApeosWare Authentication
Agent (sold separately), or the combination of Active Directory, and ApeosWare
Authentication Management or ApeosWare Authentication Agent is used.

Change the default realm name only when you want to use a different realm name.

IP addresses are managed for the entire system. Configure the settings only after
consulting your network administrator.

The setting of subnet mask and gateway addresses may be required depending on the
network environment. Consult your network administrator and configure the required
settings.

IP addresses are managed for the entire system. Configure the settings only after
consulting your network administrator.

When setting the network such as IP addresses with a host used under the Network
Information Service (NIS), consult your NIS administrator.
îš„ SMB Authentication
When an IP address or a host name is used to designate the authentication server for SMB
authentication, even if the domain name is incorrect, the authentication succeeds if the
correct user name and passcode are entered.
