Appendix H. Foundation Fieldbus Communication
H.12 Simulation Mode
Simulation mode allows the user to test the FF implementation without the instrument providing real data.
The meter PCB is shipped with simulation mode disabled. To enable simulation mode, complete the
following steps:
1. Remove the PCB from the meter.
2. Locate the jumper
P5 (see Figure 141 below).
3. Move the
P5 jumper to the left one place (pins 2 & 3) to enable simulation mode.
4. Re-install the PCB into meter
5. Verify that the
Block error field in the Resource Block shows SimulationActive status.

CAUTION! To prevent damage to the electronic components, always use
ESD protection whenever
handling printed circuit boards.
