3 Port Setting
Port Configuration menu allows the user to manage the basic settings of a switch
port. Link type, link speed and enabling or disabling a given link is some examples of
settings allowable.
Port Configuration menu is located at Settings Ports.
The first column “Port” lists all switch ports. The second column “Link” displays the
status of a given link. Red colour means link down, and green colour means link up.
The third column, Current Speed, displays the link status. If link is down, the circle at
the Link column will be red coloured and current link will be Down. If link is up, the
circle at the Link column will be green coloured and current link will display link speed
and communication mode (full-duplex or half-duplex).
Allowed configuration is as shown below.
Speed Configured:
This field allows configuring the speed at a given port. Port speed configuration will
depend on the port type (electrical or optical), and possible options are as follows.
o Disabled: disable the port, that is, turn communication off at that
port;
o Auto: enable electrical port speed auto negotiation, allowed only
for electrical ports;
o 10Mbps HDX: enable port speed to 10 Mbps in half-duplex mode;
o 10Mbps FDX: enable port speed to 10 Mbps in full-duplex mode;
o 100Mbps HDX: enable port speed to 100 Mbps in half-duplex
mode;
o 100Mbps FDX: enable port speed to 100 Mbps in full-duplex mode;
o 1 Gbps FDX: enable port speed to 1 Gbps in full-duplex mode;
o SFP_Auto_AMS: enable optical port speed auto negotiation, based
on the SFP rom memory. Some SFP modules could not be detected
in this mode, due to lack of standard to do SFP speed and mode
auto detection;
o 100-FX: enable optical port speed to 100 Mbps in full-duplex mode;
o 100-FX_AMS: enable AMS mode at the port. Optical ports will be
enabled to 100 Mbps in full-duplex mode and electrical ports will
be enabled as Auto mode;
