4 Security Settings
4.1 General Security Settings
Security Switch allows the user to manage basic security setting. Users, SSH and
HTTPS access monitoring are some examples of settings allowable.

Users:
The Users menu allows configuring users that will be used to authenticate access at
the switch. It is allowed to define user name, password and privilege levels. Up to 15
privilege levels are possible, which are defined at the Privilege Levels field. The Users
field allows selecting which level will be used by the user.
The first column, User Name, displays the name of the users configured. Privilege
Level column indicates the privilege level that the user is allowed.
User name is a link, which can be used to access users’ configuration by clicking on
it. When clicking at the user name, the User Settings menu will open. Possible
configurations are as follows.
o User Name: the user name that will be used by this user. Allowed
values are letters, numbers and underscore. Maximum user name
size is 31 characters;
o Password: the password that will be used to identify this user.
Allowed character is any printable character, including spaces.
Maximum password text size is 31 characters;
o Password (again): at this field the password text must be repeated,
to guarantee that is typed correct;
o Privilege Level: choose the privilege level that the user will be
allowed. Possible values are from 0 to 15, chosen in the list. Only
one privilege level is allowed per user.
Users menu is used to map user-to-privilege, and function-to-privilege mapping is done at the Privilege Levels menu.
Default user to access and configure the equipment is the admin user, and default password field must be left empty. The admin
user has a Privilege Level of 15, and this level cannot be changed to this user.
